Browsing public projects
Browse the public catalog of organizations, offices, projects, and templates (the Projects page), and create a project from a template.
The public catalog — the Projects entry in the site menu — is a browsable, no-account view of what government organizations are working on and the templates they've published. Anyone can look — signing in only adds the ability to build on what you find.
Browsing the catalog
The catalog is organized as a multi-level browse that mirrors the app's hierarchy:
- Organizations — the government organizations publishing to the catalog.
- Offices — the offices within an organization.
- Projects and templates — the published projects and templates under an office.
- Template detail — the full view of a single template.
You can drill down from an organization to its offices to their projects and templates, all without an account.
Creating a project from a template
When you're signed in, a Create from template button appears on a template. Using it creates a new project in your own workspace from that template and drops you into it in the main app. If you're logged out, the button doesn't appear — you'll be prompted to sign in or sign up first.
Publishing to the catalog
The catalog's contents come from the organization side: government organizations can publish projects and templates into the catalog to make them publicly visible. That's how the organizations, offices, and templates you browse get there in the first place. As a visitor or signed-in user, you're on the receiving end — browsing what's been published and building on it.
