Russell Valley Fuels Reduction

The Russell Valley Fuels Reduction Project is a proposed vegetation management project on the Truckee Ranger District of the Tahoe National Forest, located north of Truckee near the community of Russell Valley and the Highway 89 corridor. The project would apply a range of vegetation management actions on approximately 3,000 acres to reduce hazardous fuels, improve forest health, and protect the community from high-severity wildfire. It is a NEPA Categorical Exclusion analyzed under a Decision Memo, undertaken collaboratively with the Middle Truckee River Watershed Forest Partnership (MTRWFP).
